SUPPORT MONASTIC LIFE

A monastery with a millennial history, preserving the memory of St. Nicholas the Hierarch in Jerusalem

Built in Jerusalem since the time of Empress Helena, the Church of the Monastery has gone through various stages of construction. It stands as a testimony to the memory of the pilgrimage and of the time Saint Nicholas the Hierarch spent in Jerusalem, as well as to the love of those who honor him. Under the spiritual guidance of Father Abbot Markos, the monastic community is devoted to prayer, welcoming pilgrims, and keeping alive the memory of Saint Nicholas. Here, in Jerusalem, prayers rise straight to heaven, where they are heard by the Good Lord and His saints.

Saint Nicholas holds a special place in the hearts of believers and monks throughout the world. Known as a great wonderworker and protector, his intercession brings spiritual comfort and help in all troubles. The wonderworking icon of Saint Nicholas the Hierarch in our monastery is over 500 years old — a window to heaven, a place of great power in prayer. Father Abbot and the entire monastic brotherhood pray unceasingly for all benefactors and their families, asking for Saint Nicholas’s protection and God’s blessing upon those who support monastic life.
